Ford has sold the very first 2019 Mustang Bullitt, and it brought big money for charity.
The Bullitt was shown for the first time just last week at the Detroit auto show. Last weekend, the very first car went on the block at Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction.
When the gavel sounded, the Bullitt sold for $300,000. The money raised went to Boys Republic, a school for troubled youth that Steve McQueen attended and later served as honorary chair.
Ford hasn’t given out retail pricing for the Bullitt yet, but this sum is likely well over four times what a regular production model will sell for.
The Bullitt Mustang uses a version of Ford’s 5.0L V8 with intake pieces from the Shelby GT350 to raise power to 475 hp. It comes in just Dark Highland Green or black paint and has a special pared down black grille.
