The odometer on my 65, 5 speed (was a 4 speed top loader, but swapped it out a few years ago) stopped working. My speedometer needle used to bounce, and didn't read true. I replaced the speedo cable, primed it with graphite, made sure all the connections were tight, and clean. Still didn't fix the issue. I believe I have the correct gear.
