Video: DIY Your Drift Stick Install

Ford Performance’s got the Drift Stick. It lets you start the baddest drifts. And here’s how it goes in.

Ford’s Drift Stick is a performance handbrake for the Focus RS. It’s basically just a handle that operates the rear differential clutches and rear brakes. It lets you lock the rear wheels and snap the rear sideways long enough for you to apply power to hit that sick drift you just know you can pull off in that empty parking lot.

Since it’s basically a switch and not a new hydraulic system, it’s a straightforward install. To make it even easier, Ford has put out a video showing you how to do it.

The stick goes between the driver’s seat and the center console, attached to the existing e-brake handle. Then the Drift Stick gets wired into the OBD II diagnostic port with cables run under the carpet. A USB port lets you download diagnostics or upload the Drift Stick software.

Just remember, this isn’t for public roads. Don’t be the one who gets it renamed the Ditch Stick and make Ford regret this awesome accessory.
