Ford Celebrates Focus RS with Heritage Edition
15 February 2018, 08:00

All good things must come to an end and the Focus RS is no exception. In April, Ford will stop producing the hottest of hot hatches, but the nameplate is ready for one last hurrah before the end.

The Focus RS Heritage Edition pays tribute to the Escort RS thanks to its classic Tief Orange paint job and a rash of upgrades that give it more power and grip.

Thanks to a Mountune FPM375 upgrade, this RS gets an extra 25 hp and 30 lb-ft of torque for a total of 375 hp and 376 lb-ft of torque.

The power upgrades come as a result of a high-flow induction kit, an improved turbo re-circulating valve, and an ECU remap.

Up front, meanwhile, the RS gets a Quaife mechanical locking diff (previously seen on the RS Edition), that better manages torque to improve traction under hard throttle.

The car can still funnel all its torque to the rear wheels, though, so don’t fear for drift mode’s fate.

Along with that bright orange color, the Focus RS gets grey brake calipers and black forged alloy wheels. Black mirror caps and a black rear spoiler also come as part of the deal.

Only 50 of these superhot Focus RSs will be sold at a price of nearly £40,000.

Fortunately, this isn’t necessarily the end for the RS. Autocar reports that Ford is already working on the next generation Focus RS, despite rumors of its demise.
