How About an 800 hp 2018 Mustang for $39,995?
23 February 2018, 08:00

More power for fewer dollars is always a good thing. And it’s hard to beat 800 hp for just a little bit more than a midsize sedan.

It’s another massively powerful Ford Mustang from Lebanon Ford in Lebanon, Ohio. This time the LFP 800HP Mustang is available from a surprising base price of $39,995. It’s slightly less power than their twin-turbo Hellion, but for a lot less money.

It starts with a 3.0L Whipple supercharger. It huffs through a dual-pass intercooler and larger intake plumbing. The kit is bundled with Whipple’s Tomahawk handheld tuner to handle air fuel and spark. The tuner will also let you log data, flash any vehicle modules, and edit for tire size and axle ratio.

What does it add up to? Lebanon says it’s more than 800 crank horsepower, with more power expected as they push the limits of the kit.

It starts with a base 2018 Mustang GT. A brand new Mustang GT with a six-speed manual. The 10-speed automatic is an option too, for a little bit extra. The kit will affect the powertrain warranty of the car, but Whipple offers a three-year, 36,000-mile supplemental warranty for a few dollars more.

The kit is CARB Pending, which LFP says means it will be 50-state legal once the California paperwork is processed.

Oh, and if you’re looking for 800 hp but you need a little more space than the Mustang allows? Lebanon Ford Performance says to expect trucks and SUVs in the not so distant future.

Buyers who want more upgrades to help handle the power aren’t left out. LFP offers upgraded exhaust systems, oil pumps, half shafts and drive shafts as well as improved suspension components. Although upgraded brakes seem to be noticeably absent from the upgrade list.

If you’re looking for an 800 hp new car, your options list just grew. And this one might be the biggest performance bargain anywhere.
