It’s a 429 cubic-inch monster. That’s 7.0L of big block American V8 power. Designed to compete with Chrysler’s 426 Hemi around the tracks of NASCAR. Shoehorned into the Mustang in 1969, it made for one of the fastest, meanest, and rarest Mustangs around.
This 1969 Mustang Boss 429 is the 189th car to roll off of the line, and it will be rolling onto the auction block at Mecum’s Houston auction in April.
On top of the 375 hp V8, this car has a four-speed manual and a Traction-Lok rear differential. It’s one of just 132 built in this Royal Maroon paint and trim.
One of just 1,358 Boss Nines to roll out of Ford, this is one of the rarest muscle cars around. It has all of the paperwork, including a build sheet, invoices, and letters from Ford. It’s been completely restored with all of the correct markings. And it could be yours when the hammer falls.
