I need to replace the boot on my 64.5 four speed shifter. A picture is attached. The shifter has a "T" at the top to pull when shifting into reverse, and a bracket on the transmission end that looks like it might be welded on and there is no visible way to remove it that I can see The boot will not even come close to going over either end of the shifter. Can someone tell me how I can remove and replace the boot? Any help would be much appreciated. (I've owned this sweetheart since 1967...
