I have a 64.5 convertible that has two "brackets/arms" welded to the front of the frame which bend inward and appear to protect the strut rod brackets. They have a 1/2" hole at the end of each. They appear like they could be used for a tow arm or tie-down point but the holes are too small for a hook or strap. I have not seen these on any other classic Mustang so far.
