“Apocalypse Now,” “2001: A Space Odyssey,” “Pulp Fiction.” These films all have big opening scenes that make an immediate impact on the audience, boldly grabbing them by the scruff of the neck and demanding their attention.
These opening scenes pale in comparison to Ford Performance’s latest video’s.
Celebrating the start of the 2019 Formula Drift season, the video sees two Mustang RTRs drifting balletically across a racetrack. Is it racing? Is it art? Yes. As is widely known, when a car lifts one of its wheels at speed, art is happening.
Driven by Vaughn Gittin Jr and Chelsea DeNofa, the 2018 Mustang RTRs get a revised front clip (just like the roadgoing 2018 Mustang) and are powered by a Roush Yates naturally aspirated V8 that makes 900 hp and this reporter weep tears of joy at 9,000 rpm.
