If you want a chance to check out the real Bullitt Mustang in person, the recently re-discovered 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback that was used in the movie, just head down to The Mall.
That’s The Mall, as in the National Mall in Washington, D.C. The Bullitt car will be on display there until April 23rd in a glass garage that is lit-up for your 24-hour viewing pleasure. This is the car that Ford brought out of decades of hiding for the 50th anniversary of the film and to help reveal the latest 2019 Bullitt Mustang. You’ll be able to get up close (but not too close) to the car used in the iconic chase on the streets of San Francisco.
It won’t be the only car on display on the mall, the Historic Vehicle Association is having a month-long Cars at the Capital celebration. Alongside the Mustang will be the 15-millionth Ford Model T built. Both vehicles are amongst just 24 vehicles included in the National Historic Vehicle Register. Alongside icons like the Buick Y-Job, Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe CSX2287, and the first Plymouth Voyager ever built.
