Although most of the test cars we’ve seen running around haven’t had any spoiler to speak of, we’ve long known that they should. 

Official Ford teasers showed the car from overhead bearing a low spoiler (though not small) and now we finally have photos of the car sporting its spoiler.

Reports indicate that this will be part of a track pack that should allow this high-power bruiser to keep up with the best at the track.

The pictured car also appears to feature the production hood with its bountiful crop of scoops. 

What lies beneath those scoops remains to be seen, though previous teasers and Instagram posts lead us to believe that it will be a supercharged 5.2-liter V8. With the release of the Cobra Jet, though, the two engines could have been conflated. That leaves the door open (if only just) for the naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 of legend.

Either way, the engine is expected to crank out over 700 hp, which the spoiler will presumably help to put down in high speed corners.

Expect the GT500 to launch late this year.
