Wesley Ryan loved his 1993 Ford Mustang GT, though naming after the car Christine after *that* Christine was an interesting choice. But a little over a decade ago he had to sell it. His wife needed cancer surgery and Wesley needed money.
“When I was born, that was the vehicle he took me home in. So, that car had a lot of sentimental value,” his daughter Jeni told CBS News. She and her brother Jake were still kids, but they understood how much their father loved that car.
So they decided to buy it back. The best kids ever set out to track the car down, and found it for sale two years ago. But they couldn’t agree on a price so they had to let it go.
Then a couple of weeks ago, they found it for sale again. “So my brother calls me, tells me, ‘Hey, I found Christine online,'” Jeni said. “That same day we drove up to Kyle, Texas, to go pick her up.”
Jeni and Jake, the brother, came up with a plan to surprise their father with the car. Their mother helped co-ordinate.
They blindfolded Wesley and brought the car in on a flatbed. They removed the blindfold and brought Wesley to tears.
“He never expected anything back from us. All my dad wanted us to be is successful, and that’s all he ever asked from us. He never asked for his vehicle back,” she said. “Literally, words cannot explain that video (of the reunion) because that video explains absolutely everything.”
