Ford’s Auctioning First 2020 GT500 For Charity
18 December 2018, 08:00

If you’re hoping for a shot at the very first 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500, then you’re going to get one. You’re just going to want to bring your checkbook.

The very first production car will be auctioned off at Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale next month. Proceeds from the sale of the new fastest horse will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Ford says they’ve raised more than $60 million for the cause in 35 years.

As far as what to expect from the car? Well, it’s set to be revealed at the Detroit show next month. With an absurd amount of horsepower, and, if we had to put money on it, a V8. Maybe the GT350’s 5.2 with a big ‘ol blower strapped to it. The old one had 662 hp, and you can’t let the new one have less than that, can you? Of course not! What is this, 1974?

Oh, and the lucky winner won’t be taking home their car that day. Ford has said the cars will likely start to arrive in the fall.
