Lincoln has unveiled the latest in its lineup of new, fancier crossovers: the Corsair. Following the design language of the new Navigator and Nautilus, the Corsair fits handsomely into the new family.
“The all-new Corsair is distinctive enough to stand on its own, yet its sophisticated style, craftsmanship and sanctuary make it unmistakably Lincoln,” says Joy Falotico, president of Lincoln. “Corsair’s addition to the portfolio means Lincoln now has a full family of SUVs to exceed the needs of our luxury clients.”
Inside, too, Lincoln is catering to its clientele’s luxurious tastes. The Corsair will debut three new interior colors: Beyond Blue, Cashew, and Medium slate. Whatever color the seats come in, they’ll be adjustable in 24 ways, which may be more adjustment than even I’m capable of.
But that’s standard premium crossover stuff, Lincoln really wanted to elevate its Corsair, so it hired the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to record its warning chimes for it. Not only does that mean that the chimes are exquisitely arranged, there are a bunch of them. So the reminder to put on your seatbelt will be distinct form the warning that a door is ajar and both will be symphonic and soothing.
The Corsair also offers 102.5 cubic feet of passenger volume, with 27.6 cu-ft of that dedicated to the trunk (and 57.6 cu-ft if you lower the rear seats).
The driver can make use of a 12.3-inch color cluster directly in front of them as well as a heads up display and a wireless charging pad. If you really want to, you can also, optionally, use your phone as the key.
Lincoln is offering the Corsair with a choice of two engine: a 250 hp 2.0-liter turbo four, or a 2.3-liter, 280 hp turbo four. Either way, power is delivered through an 8-speed automatic transmission.
A suite of safety features is also available with Lincoln Co-Pilot360. Lane-keeping, pre-collision, auto high beams, and blind spot are all included, as well as evasive steer assist, active park assist, and more with Co-Pilot360 Plus.
