Ford will introduce a handful of modest updates for the 2020 model year of the GT350. These will, according to Ford, improve steering feel and help with driver confidence.

That’s because the biggest change comes to the GT350’s steering system. The Mustang now borrows the high-trail steering knuckle and suspension geometry that were redesigned for the GT500. 

“It’s always been our plan to take the latest innovations from the GT500 program and strategically apply them across the Mustang lineup,” said Ed Krenz, Ford Performance chief program engineer. “These latest updates to the GT350R keep its performance competitive and on the top if its game, whether that’s on the track or on the street.”

Ford also says that it removed the car’s exhaust resonators for “weight reduction.” While no weights have actually been quoting, we think it’s brilliant of Ford to er… remind us that the resonator delete wasn’t done to increase our engines’ bellows, as our angry neighbors suggest, but rather to save weight, which in turns help save gas, which ultimately helps save the planet. Who’s being inconsiderate now, GERRY?

These join the deleted rear seat, the carbon fiber wheels, and carbon aero elements fore and aft as “green” considerations affixed to the GT350.
