SEMA is kind of like the cat walk at Paris Fashion Week. The designs are so ridiculous that they’re meant more as statements of intent than actual products you would take home. But sometimes, a design is actually just right, as is the case with this Roush Mustang.

Headed for SEMA, it’s the brainchild of NASCAR Cup driver Ryan Blaney and photographer Larry Chen. Its design is based on one a GT40 wore to the 1966 Daytona 24 Hour race and was designed by Khyzyl Saleem.

It also rides on Fifteen52 Podium Super Touring wheels and has ST suspension XTA Coilovers. That new suspension helps it handle the 700 hp and 610 lb-ft of torque generated thanks to the addition of a Roush supercharger.

Unlike other 700 hp Mustangs, though, this one does have a 6-speed manual transmission. It also features a 6-point harness to keep you in the NRG bucket racing seats, and a NASCAR-style steering wheel to make Mr. Blaney feel more at home.

“As an auto sports photographer who’s been involved with racing for fifteen years, I’ve learned to see more of the finer details of the race cars and the drivers,” says Larry Chen. “Ryan Blaney is truly the next generation of NASCAR and one of the most enthusiastic, passionate and talented drivers I’ve seen in years. I couldn’t have been paired with a better partner to create this unique and one-of-a-kind Ford Mustang…”
