Ford Formalizes Spring Debut for Bronco
02 November 2019, 08:00

The Bronco will be unveiled in Spring 2020. Ford has finally made the official announcement in a teaser video that you can watch above.

The video doesn’t actually reveal much more about the SUV, but does take some time to run through the history of the marque, which ran for 30-odd years from the ’60s to the ’90s.

The new Bronco is expected to be offered with a 2.3-liter turbo four as the base engine and a hybrid V6 is expected farther up the line.

Removable doors, an old timey spare tire mounted on the back, and a removable roof are all expected. In fact, patents uncovered by AFM suggest that the whole roll cage will be removable, meaning that Bronco could allow you even more open air than its main competition, the Jeep Wrangler.

Trademark filings, meanwhile, suggest that special editions of the Bronco will be named after American holiday destinations like the Outer Banks and Big Bend National Park. And reports suggest that two- and four-door will both be offered.

Only time will tell what else is to be offered, but at least we now know when our curiosity will be satisfied.
