Everyone’s favorite custom builders just unveiled their new shop truck at SEMA 2017.
Wisconson-based Jim and Mike Ring, of Ringbrothers fame, showed off their 195x Ford F-100 restomod they call “Clem 101”. The cab is from a 1956 F-100 but the grille is from a ’54, while the bed and majority of the bodywork were made from scratch.
The front suspension sub-frame comes from a Crown-Victoria, which stretched the truck’s overall length by seven-inches. As a result, the front fenders were elongated to accommodate the new configuration, behind the front wheels they flow into a set of hand-formed running boards which stretch the entire length of the truck to the 3-inch wider rear fenders.
Under the hood sits a 415-horsepower 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with a Ford Performance hi-flow fuel injection system. It breathes through stainless-steel Flowmaster 44 exhaust system, it puts power to the ground through a Bowler four-speed automatic which feeds a QA1 carbon-fiber drive shaft and a nine-inch rear end from John’s Industries.
Suspending the operation is a four-link rear suspension, coilovers from RideTech, and a custom QA1 front sway bar. Stopping comes from a set of six-piston Baer brakes.
Visually, the truck is finished in BASF Glasurit “Speedy P Green” paint, and rides on a gorgeous set of HRE 545 Vintage Series wheels wrapped in Nitto rubber. Inside, there’s a Kicker audio system, gauges from Classic Instruments, a Vintage Air Gen IV Magnum climate-control system, while the brothers had the F-100’s stock seating reupholstered by Upholstery Unlimited before respraying the dash in a creamy white shade of paint.
