Never one to miss out on a good special edition, Ford has just revealed a new Heritage Edition Package for the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R.

While Heritage Edition on Ford’s GT has usually meant the orange and blue of Gulf Oil, for the Mustang this is strictly Shelby heritage. The package adds Wimbledon White paint and Guardsman Blue stripes, just like the original 1965 Shelby Mustang fastbacks wore.

Before there were sponsor paint schemes everywhere, cars were raced under the official racing color of their country. The U.S. used white with a blue stripe to let you know where the racer you were watching came from.

The 2020 Heritage Edition cars wear that paint job outside and get special matching blue exterior badges front and rear. On this inside, there’s a special Heritage Edition badge. GT350Rs get black seats with a red accent stitch.

Orders are open now for the package, which adds $1,965 to the $60,440 MSRP of the GT350 or the $73,345 GT350R. The cars are expected to hit dealers starting in the spring. Ford didn’t mention a limit on this edition, but we’d still suggest moving fast if you want one.
