More performance pickups? Yes, please. The latest from Roush might haunt your dreams, it’s the 2020 F-150 Nitemare that gets a supercharged 5.0 and way over 600 hp. Plus it costs less than 20 grand. Sort of.
The Roush F-150 Nitemare bolts a Roush TVS R2650 supercharger system onto the stock 5.0L V8 and puffs enough boost to make 650 hp and 610 lb-ft of torque. That’s enough to push the pickup to 60 mph in under four seconds, meaning you can haul as much ass as you can cargo. At the back, there’s a Roush cat-back exhaust to make sure the blown five-oh can be heard by everyone around.
While most performance trucks are also lifted and generally made more useless for the street, Roush has gone low. A standard lowering kit reduces body roll to add some stability to make sure handling isn’t a Nitemare and to give it a pretty sweet lowered stance. On the 22-inch black seven-spoke wheels are Continental tires in 285/45 that are intended for pavement not rock crawling.
There’s a Roush grille with Raptor-like mesh and lettering, and it makes sure to work with the truck’s adaptive cruise control. The graphics pack includes a side hockey stripe, blacked-out tailgate, and, of course, some USA flags. The puddle lights splash out a Roush logo when you’re getting in and out. You can get the interior upgraded as well, with choices like red and black leather seats with Nitemare embroidery.
The package is available from Roush Ford dealers nationwide, and yes it comes with a warranty. It also starts from $19,150, though that price is on top of the truck you’re starting with. So you’re not walking out the door for $20 grand, but you can pick just how much sport and how much weight-adding luxury you want in your ride.
