This probably won’t come as much of a surprise, but the Bronco Sport has been put on Bronco Pause, according to a report from Automotive News. The new mini-off-roader will see its reveal and production pushed back at least a few months, and we’ll give you three guesses why with the first two not counting.
The news of the delay comes from suppliers, AN says, who have passed on that the Bronco Sport was set to roll out of the Hermosillo, MX, plant starting in mid-July. Now that’s scrapped over COVID-19 measures, and the first Bronco Sport has been pushed back to September 7th.
Automotive News says that Ford has declined comment on the information.
We still don’t’ know when it will be revealed, though we’ve already seen plenty of leaked photos. If production starts in September, then it’s possible we’ll see it during the postponed New York auto show, if that happens at the end of August. That’s if the situation has been sorted out by then. As fas as the big Bronco, we’re still expecting that one sometime early next year, but at this point you’re rolling the dice to put down a firm date on just about anything.
