I went to the junkyard and pulled an excellent 2001 3.8L engine without doing much research into the secondary differences. Nonetheless, I successfully transplanted the engine and transferred certain things from the 1999 model to the 2001 like the intake manifold, throttle body, and crankshaft pulley due to excess wear on 2001 model.
