Hi, I've got a '66 Mustang GT convertible, 289 V8 A code engine. The valve covers are labeled 'Shelby'. Was this an option? Was there a purpose other than the previous owner put them on to try and fool people?

I like them, but if they weren't an original option I'm thinking of changing them. Could someone tell me what the stock valve covers were?
