This is a very odd condition. I have a solid 12 V coming from the battery to the starter solenoid. The car starts right up, however, when I measure the voltage on the other side of the solenoid (the heavy black gauge wire going to the starter) I have fluctuating voltage between 12v and 19 V. How could this be? If the starter was "hung up" wouldn't I hear it while the engine was running? Any thoughts?
