Hello,

Kid has a 2014 V6 auto that has a stuck shift button that won’t depress to allow you to take it out of park. I disassembled the console and can see the brake mechanism slide back and forth on its own, but the button won’t budge.

If we apply the brakes, I can reach in with a screwdriver and push a metal ‘pin’ down which allows the shifter to move freely, but the button is still stuck.

So I am assuming the button is what actually lowers the “pin” to allow the shifter to move once...
