New at this, just bought the car, bought a 4.6 GT small version oil filter adapter to replace larger (Cobra? version) and my Buddy says will not fit. The car has been around the block a few times and quite possibly had the engine swapped.

We pulled a number 8A101AA off the valve covers googled it and it says 1998 4.6 Cobra. were these valve covers only used this Cobra? I hardly think this is definitive.

how else can i ID this engine so i can buy parts?
