Hey guys,

I ordered a replacement water pump for the 289 I’m rebuilding that originally came out of a 64 Galaxie. I had no idea at the time of ordering, but it looks like there is a special water pump for the first couple of years for the 289. Does that sound right?

I have the aluminum timing cover and from what I can tell the replacement water pump I ordered won’t work. It has a backing plate, but it appears that it won’t fit properly due to the bottom two bolts that hold the backing...
