I have a 1996, 4.6L, v8, with about 168,000 miles, Ford Mustang GT that used to crank but not start. It would try to fire but not stay running. Starter Fluid Spray would get it running for 10 seconds. I was thinking crank position sensor or cam sensor but now, today, it wont crank, no lights, no gauges; its just dead.

The battery, battery cables, battery terminals, and battery booster are clean, charged and strong. Added a new thick ground wire from the battery terminal to the engine...
