I am restoring a 1968 Mustang coupe with the 289 2 bbl and a C4 automatic. I was considering switching to the Hi-Po exhaust manifolds and exhaust system, but I read a comment in the review section of CJPony that the manifolds won't work on a 68 because they hit the engine mounts. I am not aware of the difference between 67's and 68's that would cause this. Has anyone else tried to install Hi-Po manifolds on a 68?
If this is true, which side hits and is there a work-around?
