The Bullitt Mustang is Coming to Detroit, Definitely
11 January 2018, 08:00

Ford will officially pull the sheet on its new Bullitt Mustang GT during next week’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit.

Unnamed sources have confirmed to Automotive News that the car will, in fact, make its debut in Detroit next week, timed for the 50th anniversary of Steve McQueen’s iconic movie starring the iconic Highland Green Mustang GT 390 fastback. This comes following the discovery that the 2018 Bullitt Mustang will also be on hand during Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auction next week as well, where it will be auctioned off to benefit Boys Republic, a private school for troubled adolescents in Chino Hills, California. Steve McQueen went there as a child and worked with the school well into his adulthood.

Despite the mounting evidence, Ford Canada’s Communication Manager, Christine Hollander, told All Ford Mustangs that “[I] cannot confirm the Bullitt for you at this time.”

Sweet!

The 2018 edition will likely follow in the footsteps of its predecessors in 2001 and 2008, expect dark green paint, black five-spoke wheels, along with a few other cosmetic changes. Performance changes aren’t expected, but we’d welcome them regardless.

More info will become available next week.
